Hats off to the Under 10 Div 2 players and parents, after Junior President, Phil Lee,  received the following from an EDFL umpires official, passed on by the field umpires.

“The parents and players were the best behaved and most respectful we have umpired in 3 years”

This is fantastic acknowledgement for the team and for the way the club prides itself on being a community club underpinned by values of honesty, integrity and mateship.

We had a good start to the season.  Both Under 10 teams won, as did the Under 12s.  The Under 14s, elevated to Division 1, showed great spirit in their game however they did not secure the four points. The Under 14 Division 5 team won in an exciting match and the Under 16s showed good promise but could not match the strength of West Coburg who had been relegated from Division 1 (temporarily?).

The Seniors, on Saturday, went down to West Coburg but showed that there is capacity in the team in the way they fought back in the second half.  The reserves and the Under 18s went down also.

This week we play Pascoe Vale at home, who also lost by a huge margin to Greenvale, so the game promises to be a good indicator of where the teams are at presently.
