The Airport West Football Club and senior coach, Geoff Maddern, have parted ways by mutual agreement.

After significant consideration, it has been decided a change is required to drive our group forward.

With the Club returning to Division 1 in 2020, we believe a new voice is required to oversee the next stage in our development as we fight to return and cement our position in Premier Division.

“We would like to thank Geoff for his contribution to our football club,” President Pauline McShanag said.

“Geoff has been a great asset for us since taking on the role in 2017. He led the team to a grand final in his first year and then returned to the big stage again in 2018 to take out the Division 1 premiership, our first senior premiership since 2012.

“There is no question that Geoff gave his heart and soul to the Eagles during his time at the Club. His care and commitment to Airport West is a testament to his qualities not only as a coach, but as a person.

“He will always be welcome at our Club and should be proud of his achievements as senior coach.”

The Club has commenced its search for a new senior coach, with a focus on player development and returning to Premier Division.
