What an unbelievable start to the season.

The boys have gone through the first half, undefeated, and in recent weeks have been playing some very good football against some very good opposition.

The weekend focus again was on team structure and every boy understanding what is required of the position they play in. They executed the plan once again and if it was not for some wayward goal kicking, the margin would have been much greater against opposition that was 3rd on the ladder.

There was no individual stand out, rather the 21 boys that took to the field all contributed. As in recent weeks, the workload was shared throughout the team.

A few of the Craigieburn boys were physically much bigger than any of the Airport West players, but to the boys credit, they contested when the ball was in the air and tackled when these bigger boys had the ball.

As a reward, the boys will be undertaking a boxing class on Friday followed by a BBQ as a team bonding session. The following week they are being rewarded with a night out at Fun City ( go karting, laser skirmish etc ) for such a fantastic start to the year, for playing for one another and doing everything that the coach has asked of them.

I am very proud of these boys and so should there parents and the club be, for the way they represent the Airport West Football Club.

Congratulations boys. Looking forward to a stronger second half of the year
