Seniors Update – April 2015
The new look #eaglesfootball travelled to Whittlesea today for three matches against Whittlesea Football Club affiliated in the NFL. The players are really excited and have embraced the new dynamics of the game style with everyone getting plenty of match time and a taste of senior football.
18s – Development side saw Brent Taylor and his team taking on the big body’s of the WFC u19s, in a fair contest, it was great hit out for the boys and we look forward to seeing this side evolve over the season. Brent is seeking a team manager and support team if you are free between 830am -1145am on Saturdays please reach out, your support is much appreciated.
Reserves – Brett Jacobson 2/2 a 100% coaching record. Brett being a first year Coach has embraced the challenge of developing this mix of APW home grown’s and new recruits to the club. It’s clear the boys are quite fit, again running over the opposition with their superior fitness. We are seeking players to join us, so if you are keen to join in on the fun or have referrals please send them our way, training is at 545pm ( Tues and Thurs). Brett is also seeking a team manager and support team, if you are free from 1030am -2pm Saturday’s, we are keen to hear from you.
Senior update – Clayton had the players up and about early with some quick goals and another fast start by our boys, against a competitive Whittlesea. Our competitive advantage at the moment is our fitness which saw our boys beat Whittlesea comfortably in the end by over 40 points. Stands outs this week with several key players absent, was Corey Le Favi, Anthony Aloi and Alex Penaluna kicking 7 goals. The boys will go into recovery mode for the next few days and work on their final selection for round 1, against our favorite neighbour Keilor FC.
Our season launch is on April 9, we invite all our supporters and members to attend with dinner being served plus the bar being open for drinks. From 6pm.
There is a great buzz and vibe happening amongst the senior group, and we encourage our members and supporters to connect and maybe sponsor some of our younger players for the season, with an exciting brand of footy being played, we expect to be very competitive throughout the season.
Thank you to everyone who has reached out to assist over the last month, we look forward to the season kicking off on April 11.
